Uh... what's a URL?

I am NOT computer savvy, but I want all of my family and friends to be able to see a bit of what we have been doing around our house. So, I am going to blog (is that actually a verb now?) about it. Please forgive my low-tech approach. Oh, and uh, any help from you more experienced bloggers would be appreciated!
